“So . . . how does this work?”

-
Allow me to explain. *Ahem* After receiving your request and availability (via contact form) I will promptly respond to you to begin your consultation (here we will talk about your commission: clarifying details and filling in any blanks you might not have included). Using these details I will provide you with an estimation (i.e. how much your request will cost) followed by a rough drawing to confirm we have a mutual understanding of what you want. After approving the doodle, you will have the option to pay full price up front, or a 50% deposit - and I'll get right to work! I will continue to message you updates throughout the process (either at the end of each step, or phase of completion depending on the complexity of your request - ex. Sketch, Line Art, Color, Shading) and wait for your approval before I continue, both to ensure that you are happy with the piece and prevent the need for late-stage editing (see details about additions and edits below). This will continue until the piece is complete. Once finished, I will ask 3 questions:

-
1. Are happy with your piece? Is there any more I can do to make this *chef's kiss* just right?
-
2. The remaining balance (unless you've already paid in full prior)
-
3. Permission to use your commission in the future to present in my gallery.
Aaaaand that's it! Oh! by the way, the process for collaborations and logos are a little different. So, if you're interested take a look at the details down at the bottom of the page.

Payment Options: I am currently accepting payments only through Paypal and Cash App and in cash for Localized Commissions. At this time, efforts are being made to add Venmo and Chime as well. You have the option to pay in full upfront or a 50% deposit. Those who pay the deposit only, or requested an addition/significant or late-stage alteration but did not pay immediately will have a watermark over the image until the remaining balance is paid.

Note About Editing: Even after talking things over with me, you might be having second thoughts about your commission… maybe you asked for a sketch but realize you want to see it fully rendered, perhaps you wanted your character to be waving at you, standing rather than sitting, or to have their animal companion with them. And that’s okay! My goal is to make you smile and bring your visions to life in the process!
-
You can message me at any time during the Sketch phase and request an alteration. And I will not move on to the Line Art phase without you approving the Sketch phase first. At this stage of the process, additions will cost the same as they would if you requested them originally (ex. Extra characters = $10-25, Simple Background $5-20, etc…) Small changes to a character will come at no extra cost to you (ex. altering the expression, pose of a limb - hand/arm/leg, lengthening/shortening hair, or adding/removing accessories), but expect to pay an additional small fee of $5-10 for any Significant changes (ex. completely changing the character’s pose, changing outfit/hairstyle dramatically or adding intricate detail).

-
Requesting to render a commission further can be made at any stage with no issue! I will simply add the difference between stages requested (see Commission Price Sheet above for reference).

-
However, once I have moved on to the line art phase and onwards, changes to the piece become increasingly more difficult to execute and thus would result in a larger fee. Expect to pay an additional $5 for Small Changes, or $10-30 for a Significant Change after the Sketch is approved. Additions may result in an additional fee depending on how much needs to be altered to accommodate for them.

Every edit/request will be approached on a case-by-case basis and I will make sure to notify about any additional charges (or lack thereof) before proceeding.
Collaborations: Do you have a story to tell? That’s amazing! How can I help? Unlike a typical commission where I might draw your OC or favorite characters in a scene or as an icon to use as your profile pic, a collaboration implies that you have a much larger project in mind (such as a novel, comic, animation, youtube series, etc) - one that involves multiple components, and you intend to publish/release to the public. You might need help designing a cast of characters, concept art for said characters, symbols, and backgrounds - any of which I can provide (as I previously mentioned, I am also very interested in voice acting so if that is something you need do not hesitate to ask). Orders of this nature require a great deal of communication and planning, so prepare yourself to be far more involved in the commissioning process. Depending on the scale and complexity of your request I am willing to make special accommodations and offer "bulk" rates. However for budgeting purposes, expect to pay the standard fee for each individual image you need me to draw.
For collaborations that involve designs eventually turned into merch or created with the intent to do so, refer to my logo/design section.
Logos/Designs: The main difference between a logo and your standard commission is the intent to reproduce the image and sell it for profit (ex. On its own as a sticker, keychain, label, or literal logo of a company/business, or printed on shirts, cups, tote-bags, etc.).
Like any other commission, the initial cost will be determined by the complexity of the image (i.e. how much detail and reworking is involved). You will have the option to then a. pay me an additional fee to purchase full rights to the design, b. offer a percentage of your earnings on any products that utilize the design I have created for you, c. depending on the nature of the image, compensate me in alternative ways such as sending me an agreed upon number of the product(s) you’ve created with the image that I may then choose to keep, sell, and/or give away (in which case I would happily spread the word and re-direct customers to your business), or d. any combination of the three, but this will be discussed privately and determined on a case by case basis.
